How did you end up working with IP and in your current role?
Honestly, I never expected to work in IP. My background is in legal tech sales, where I was happily leveraging my law degree. Then, Andreas Cehlinder (our CRO) asked if I wanted to join IPRally—and I said yes. The idea of working with AI-driven patent search and analytics was too exciting to pass up, and it’s been an incredible journey ever since.
Is there something particularly memorable in your IP career?
Starting my career in IP was a game-changer—it completely transformed my perspective. It opened my eyes to technologies, patents, and the role of AI, while also accelerating my growth in the field. Plus, it connected me with an incredible network of brilliant minds, which has been both inspiring and invaluable.
What would you change in the field of IP?
I would make IP as seamless as streaming a movie—no legal jargon, no endless searches. AI should handle the grunt work so innovators can focus on innovating, not paperwork. And if patents could be paid for in good ideas? Even better!
Compliments to a colleague I’ve been fortunate to work with incredibly talented people in the IP space. A special shoutout to Sakari Arvela, our co-founder, whose expertise and vision have played a key role in shaping IPRally into what it is today. His deep knowledge and willingness to help have made a huge impact—not just for our team but for the entire IP community.
How do you spend your spare time?
In my spare time, family is my priority—I love spending quality time with my kids and embracing the energy they bring. Beyond that, I stay engaged with emerging tech and sales trends, always looking for ways to grow and stay ahead. When I unwind, it is often through sports, reading, or taking a step back to strategize the bigger picture. Balance is key, but I’m always driven by curiosity and improvement.
What people don’t know about you?
Many see me as deeply immersed in sales and tech, but what truly drives me is helping others grow. I offer free courses in sales psychology and career coaching, helping people land their dream jobs at any stage of their journey. Beyond that, I have a strong competitive streak—whether in business, sports, or personal challenges, I push myself to improve. While I thrive in fast-paced environments, I also value quiet moments to recharge and gain perspective. And when it comes to answering the questions, please feel free talk tell about IPRally as well, if you wish!
